Homestead Athletics
Together, We Foster A Culture Where We Strive For Excellence, Develop Transferable Skills, And Provide Service To Others.
Homestead's athletic programs are committed to excellence, but the commitment goes across the board. Academics are our first priority, and that message is reinforced among all of our student-athletes. We are proud to offer all of the WIAA sport offerings, and with 14 no-cut opportunities, there is a tremendous opportunity for all students to enjoy the benefits of participating in athletics.
TRAVEL RELEASE FORMS
The health and safety of our students are our top priority. These travel release forms provide parents or students with a valid driver's license and proof of insurance, allowing them to transport themselves to a Homestead High School-sanctioned competition at an away site. Students may not transport any other students in the vehicle. All transportation in a private vehicle must be approved in advance in writing by the parents, coach, and athletic administrator.

HHS Co-Curricular Code of Conduct
Participation in Homestead co-curricular activities is an integral part of the Homestead High School curriculum. While our primary goal as a school district is to provide a sound academic experience for all of our students, co-curricular activities provide unique opportunities for students to promote their mental, physical, and social-emotional development. By providing a strong co-curricular program, Homestead High School extends the privilege of enriching the mind and body to any student meeting district, Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA), and any applicable governing body’s requirements. Co-curricular participants who comply with this code of conduct demonstrate a desire to dedicate themselves to self-improvement as well as to enhance the best interests of fellow teammates, advisors/coaches and school. If accepted, this privilege carries certain responsibilities, and this co-curricular code presents these responsibilities.

Booster Club
The Homestead High School Booster Club exists to encourage, support, and advance Homestead athletic programs & activities. The Homestead High School Booster Club raises funds through a wide variety of activities, including booster club membership, concessions, spirit wear sales, and events. All money earned is used to directly support your student's sport. The Booster Club has donated over $1,500,000 in the last five years alone to support athletics at Homestead High School.
The club consists of dedicated and energetic parents, teachers, coaches and alumni who collectively raise money for the club via their membership. Many of these individuals also help by coordinating concessions and spirit wear, managing scholarships, planning fun activities for members and more.

Adding a New Sport
Students, teachers, staff, or parents may initiate the process for establishing a new sport or expanding an existing sport to another level. The steps listed below should be followed:
- All requests to establish a new sport or expand an existing sport to another level will initially be presented to the Homestead High School Athletic Director.
- The Athletic Director will take the request to the school Principal for comment and approval for consideration.
- If the Principal approves the request for consideration, the Principal or designee then forwards the request to the Superintendent, with his/her comments.
- The Superintendent, Principal, and Athletic Director gather information about each of the elements for consideration of the proposal for approval or disapproval. The following elements are considered in the approval of a new sport or the expansion of an existing sport:
- Compatibility with MTSD policies and regulations
- Liability and safety
- Compliance with Title IX and other applicable laws
- Availability of practice and game space
- Availability of same-level competition locally
- Appropriateness for student group
- Demonstrated interest in the sport among current students
- Sustainability over time (demonstrated interest among future HHS students)
- Timeliness of the request and financial impact in relation to the MTSD budget cycle
- Availability of staff (including sponsors, coaches, and trainers)
- Availability of adequate administrative supervision
- Anticipated costs for coaches, equipment, uniforms, possible travel, competitions, etc.
