Clubs/Co-Curriculars

To join a club, wait until the beginning of the school year and pay close attention to the daily announcements. Club meetings will be announced. Last year’s clubs and club advisors will also be posted on the web. Listen, as new clubs and advisors may change with every trimester. Contact the teacher/advisor from previous year to see if the club is still active. For your convenience, all past and present club information is easily accessible and posted on the HHS website under Today’s Announcements.

A student must attend meetings, be actively involved, and must follow an advisor’s club rules to be considered active within a club.

New clubs are formed throughout the school year. All new clubs must be approved by our principal. Once approved, it is added to the HHS Website. A new club cannot be formed without approval, without an advisor, or without actively involved students.

All active clubs with a student roster (the student’s full name and grade level) must be submitted to the attendance office at the end of each Trimester.

The Homestead High School Theatre Department has re-launched our chapter of The International Thespian Honor Society. Founded in 1929, this honor society is for anyone involved in theatre, directing, backstage, on stage or someone who enjoys watching live theatre. High School inductees are known as “Thespians.”

The Homestead High School Visual Arts Department is thrilled to announce the inaugural chapter of The National Arts Honor Society this year. In 1978, the National Art Education Association began the National Art Honor Society program to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in art.

The NAHS strives to aid members in attaining the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.

Appointment to the National Honor Society is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a student by a high school. It signifies high standards of Scholarship, Service, Leadership and Character. To be eligible for consideration for National Honor Society membership, candidates must have an unweighted cumulative grade point average of 3.5, be of junior class standing, and have attended Homestead at least one trimester. Eligible students are notified via email during the 2nd trimester of their junior year.

Student Council is a group made up of elected and appointed members that represent each of the four classes. Students are provided an opportunity to run for any of the class officer or representative seats. The council also relies on student volunteers to assist in organizing and carrying out the social events and other activities that help in making the school a better place. Last year, among many other activities, the council sponsored a blood drive and conducted fundraising efforts for Family Sharing of Ozaukee County.

Students involved in the council have an opportunity to meet with students from other North Shore Conference schools and to participate in many leadership-training activities. Meetings are held twice a month, with other activities taking place throughout the year. Students should listen for announcements about Student Council or contact the advisor to express an interest.
